What? I hear you say... Then how do they make their money?
Oh, they sell products, rest assured. And lots of them. But the key word there was TRY.
The big hitters in this industry TRY to sell you only one thing - their credibility. Once you believe that they are some sort of guru, then they place their products in front of you, and if you are like most people, you jump at them, in the hopes of following in their footsteps.
The trouble is, the products are often not that remarkable in themselves. For example, blogging is based on technology that has been around for years, but it is only now that everyone is calling the latest 'hot' thing. Why? Because someone decided to market it as a business tool.
It is the fact that the buyer is in awe of the seller that makes them buy. Very few will ever get rich trying to re-sell those same products. Precisely because that is what they do - TRY to re-sell those products.
